About Me

My name is Kim. Here’s my story:

In November my husband, Morgan, was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia along with autoimmune hemolytic anemia and has been in intensive treatment for the past 3 months. He has demonstrated amazing strength and courage through the most difficult of times. In honor of him and thousands like him I want to try to help others diagnosed with this horrible disease.

On May 5th, 2012 and I will participate in The OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. I have joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training (TNT) to prepare and participate in this event to raise donations for leukemia research.

I’ve never before done any fundraising or run even a mile in my life.  So this is sure to be one BIG adventure!  My goals are simple: to finish the race (walking or running) and to raise $1,500 to fight blood-related cancers.

This blog is an effort to share my adventure with those who have donated or are interested in donating or participating.
